A day of field trip excitement...

I got to school at 6:45. Word. Had lots to do before the field trip.

Left school VERY TIRED at 4:15.  9.25 hours at school.  Then an hour of planning at home. 10.25 hour day.

Good times.  Just one full day left this week, thank goodness. :)

Sunday...

Graded from 3-5.  Went to the gym.  Ate.  Graded again 7-9.  Planned/created things 9-10:30.

Monday...got to work at 7:15.  Left at 4:30. 
Too tired to do ANYTHING else once home from the gym and other things.

Monday....9.25 hours

Tuesday...Got to work at 7:15.  Taught and had a meeting until 4:00.  Then I attended a school football game, but instead of really watching, I graded.  Left the game VERY early, but then went to the store to pick up things for a field trip tomorrow.  I'm counting ALL this time because, technically, I was "working".  Finished at the store around 5:15.  

Got home, went to a family football game (no grading), came back home, ate.  Then...surprise!!!...GRADED from 7:15-9:15.

Tuesday hours.... 12.  HOLY MOLY.

Sunday+Monday+Tuesday=26.75 hours.

Got to get up SUPER early to get ready for the field trip tomorrow. Jooooooyyyyy! :) I really am excited.   These things can make me nervous though.

Day of hard work for the kiddos today and they did awesome considering it is FRIDAY and the day of our town's big high school football rivalry game. Rock stars!

Got to school a bit on the later side...7:30 but couldn't leave as promptly as usual because I was in charge of an end of the day activity that ended up needing clean up and debriefing.  Left at 3:30 though. Not too shabby.

There was a little grading accomplished throughout the day, but between meeting with my team and getting things ready for the end of day activity, my planning and collaboration periods were taken up. :(  This weekend will be sssssuuuuuuuuuuppppppppppppeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrr fun. (Or not.)

Time gets away from me...

Well, Tuesday has come and gone and Wednesday is here now.  I'll combine the two days into one post at the end of the evening. :)

Tuesday I got to work at 7:15.  Had a meeting after school until 4:30.  Long day.  9.25 hours at work.
Once home, I planned and prepped for an hour and a half.
10.75 hours total for the day.

Today I arrived early. Right at 7:00 so I could get some things done before school.  I'll be leaving right around 3:30, but I will have some stuff to do once I get home. Once I know how much I've worked I'll repost.

Today was a pretty good day.  We got things done.  For, I think, the first time this year the lesson plan I made actually all fit into the class period!  Woot woot!

Got to school at 7:30 and left at 3:00.  Mondays are busy for me so I had to go home early.  Went to the gym and my Monday evening commitment.  Came home, ate dinner and then planned/created things for tomorrow from 7:45-8:30.

Today is Sunday.  I went to school today and was there from 1:00 until 4:00.  3 hours.

Once home, I did my home things (cooked/cleaned/worked out/etc) and then graded for another half hour.

Got to school at 7:15 this morning.  It's been a good week for getting my bootay to school on the early side. I like it. :)

Taught/planned/collaborated until the last bell and then attended a meeting after school.  The meeting lasted until 4:00ish after which time I went to talk to my teaching partner about a lesson she recently did.  I was walking out of the building around 4:30.

All in all a good day, though, perhaps a bit long.

Sunday I went to school and got my stuff so that I could work from home and watch football in the background.

I started grading at 1:15 and finished at about 2:15.  Not too shabby.  Then I planned after a trip to the gym from about 7:00-8:30.

Monday I got to work fairly early, 7:15 and worked until 3:00. Then went about my day. Got home and planned for about half an hour.

Monday: 8.25 hours

Tuesday I got to school at 7:15 again and left at 3:00.  Had lots of errands to run before 5:00.  I'm headed to the gym soon but will be back home around 7:45 to do some planning for the rest of the week. Woot woot.  So far today, 7.75 hours of work.

This is a pretty easy week for me because my students are testing in class which means I'm getting an opportunity to grade while they work.  It's nice, but at the same time, I can only give half of my attention to the grading when students are in the room so I'm working more slowly than I normally would, I think.  Oh, well.  Anything is better than Saturday grading, although, I have a feeling that will be a part of my life this weekend anyway... :)

Wednesday Part One...

I go to work earlier this morning because of the change of lesson plans form last night--I had to go in to make copies which means to avoid stress I had to beat the other teachers. :)  I arrived at 7:00.  The school day went fine all was well--had a staff meeting afterward and then a meeting between some other teachers and myself planning some upcoming activities.  Officially, I left school at 5:00.

That's 10 hours.

I still have to plan two lessons for tomorrow and create any and all materials I might need. Joy!

I'll start that after dinner.

Got to work at 7:15.  Worked (teaching, planning, grading, meetings) until 4:00.  Graded at school until 5:30.

Went home.  Ate, etc.  Started grading again at 6:45.  Halfway through grading realized that students weren't being successful.  Replanned tomorrow's lesson including student work, handouts and activities. It is now 9:30.

I also have to plan my advanced class still because they won't need this new lesson.  They've been successful and are ready to move on.   I'd say that planning will take me about 30 minutes more, meaning I'll work until about 10:00.

I really don't like working on weekends, but I just can't get the grading and some of the other "non-planning" projects done in the planning hours and after school hours. Oy. Tomorrow I'm going to have 110 paragraphs to grade in the evening so that I can get my students moving on the things they need to improve upon.  I hate these short deadlines, but I feel like effective teaching happens when we know exactly what students know/can do and move from there.  Wish me luck...tomorrow is going to be a LOOOOONG day both at school and at home grading.
